SUDDENLY!

December 31st, 2008

Is the word the Lord clearly spoke to me today

I studied the scriptures to see what they say

About the word suddenly and its’ meaning

Give me wisdom, O Lord, upon you I am leaning

Sudden means an unexpected event marked by haste

Are you telling me, O Lord, I don’t have time to waste

I must tell others about your wonderful saving grace

Before they leave suddenly to meet you face to face

Suddenly, you spoke to Moses your chosen one

And assured him victory over pharaoh would be won

Suddenly a sound from heaven came as a mighty wind

And upon all gathered the Holy Ghost did descend

Paul and Silas were singing and there was an earthquake

Suddenly how that old jail did quiver and shake

You sent a sudden word of deliverance and set them free

You did it for them and you can do it for me

As I toil along in this wearisome world below

Working for you as your precious seeds I do sow

Suddenly today the word you may strongly speak

And give me extra strength as I grow feeble and weak

Suddenly is a great word that my ears did plainly hear

Events in this world tells me that Jesus’ coming is near

Suddenly one day God will speak to Jesus his son

And say go get your children, it is finished and done

Top 5 Ways Fax Automation Will Increase Small Business Productivity

December 30th, 2008

Today, most small to medium sized organizations understand outbound fax automation as the ability to send faxes with their computers using the email or internet. This is only the tip of the business productivity iceberg. Outbound fax automation is about saving time and money by eliminating manual fax creation and submission. It is the use of a computer based faxing solution in a specific manner for sending outbound faxes. All computer based fax solutions ARE NOT created equal. The selection of the best solution will depend on budget, fax volume, identified fax workflow inefficiencies and future eDocument Delivery initiatives.

For outbound faxing, the top 5 ways to increase the productivity are:

1. Automated Desktop Faxing
2. Fax Broadcasting
3. Sending Faxes using Email Distribution Groups
4. Fax-Enabling Billing and Invoicing Applications
5. Outbound Fax Management

Automated Desktop Faxing

Most office administrators or office managers are involved in the mailing or faxing of documents. These documents typically include reports, newsletters, invoices, announcements and marketing literature. The manual mailing and faxing of these types of documents is labor intensive, cost prohibitive and significantly time consuming. Automated desktop faxing eliminates printing, mailing and faxing of reports, form letters, newsletters, announcements etc by hand. Automated desktop faxing happens directly from your computer. Faxing tools are installed within your document processing applications Microsoft Word, Crystal Reports etc as well as your contact database applications (Microsoft Excel, Access, Goldmine, Maximizer, etc).

Fax Broadcasting

Fax broadcasting is another form of automated outbound fax automation. It significantly reduces repetitive steps and increases the speed of delivery of documents. For many SMB’s fax broadcasting is a vital part of their ongoing marketing, product announcement and customer communication strategies. With the influx of email spam and spam filters, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to reach your own customers. Sending a fax often eliminates this concern, because unlike email, faxes are always read and delivered when recipients are properly identified. When selecting a fax broadcasting solution ensure it is capable of performing the following steps:

1. Ability to create a highly legible faxable document.
2. Ability to create or use an existing database list from a variety of formats (CSV, TEXT, EXCEL, ACCESS, SQL,)
3. Ability to map database fields to the content of the fax document for personalization.
4. Ability to manage the entire process easily. Management includes tracking, monitoring and modification and resubmission.

Sending Faxes Using Email Distribution Lists

Fax automation is about leveraging existing technologies and resources. Sending faxes using email distribution groups allows you to use a centralized phone book or recipient list. It eliminates the need to create or maintain separate phone books. In addition, third party applications and other databases have links directly into email contacts or distribution groups. The most common locations for prospect or existing client records and detailed information are contained within a contact manager, sales application or Microsoft Outlook Contacts.

Note: Sending faxes using email distribution groups IS NOT the same as sending faxes through email. While sending faxes through email provides a central repository for most electronic communication methods, there are also several drawbacks including:

Sending faxes through email eliminates the real-time transaction process or benefit of sending a fax.
Each fax sent directly from email creates an individual email message with a [FAX] recipient type which is subsequently stored on your local machine and email server.
Depending on size fax recipient lists, sending faxes through email using distribution lists may significantly slow down your email server or network.
Addition disk space is used in sending faxes through email.

Fax Enabling Billing and Invoicing Applications

Outbound fax automation is about improving cash flow through improved accounts receivables and reduces costs. Traditionally, accounts receivable departments have manual data entry systems to which purchase orders are entered and processed. Once processed, invoices are manually printed and mailed to clients for payment. Printing, envelope stuffing and mailing of invoices is also a labor and resource intensive task. In addition, USPS mail costs 0.39 or greater for deliver and takes on average 48 hours for delivery and payment of the invoice generally occurs several days later. All of these manual processing steps and consumable costs are eliminated through outbound fax automation. Your billing and invoicing application can be fax-enabled and with a simple push of the key on your keyboard, invoices are be delivered to clients in seconds - with confirmation receipts!

Outbound Fax Management

Outbound fax management helps businesses grow in several areas simultaneously. Paper intensive SMB’s use outbound fax on a daily basis to market, generate and close business. It is rare that a day will go by without sending a fax. Fax management involves the management of all outbound fax transmissions. This includes the review of fax usage (by department) in terms of transmission time, delivery destinations (by area code and/or recipient) and subject matter (invoice, P.O., expense report, announcement, newsletter).

Summary

When the best outbound fax automation solution is implemented, organizations will see high productivity gains and tangible results in lead generation, customer response, accounts receivables, decreased manual labor burden costs and increased worker productivity. Outbound fax automation also provides insight to other organizations deficiencies and in many cases leads to the implementation of other eDocument initiatives.

The Story “From the Chicken Coop”(tm)

December 29th, 2008

Many years ago my grandfather, had a small farm and
chickens. One morning he sent me out to the chicken coop to
collect fresh eggs. He became concerned when I didn’t return
after a shot interval. When he came looking for me I jumped
with joy, but he saw tears in my eyes and noticed that I was in
an adjacent empty chicken coop, which could be entered only
through the same door as the occupied coop.

When he noticed my distress and asked, “What was wrong?”
I told him tearfully, “that nasty rooster, who was now docile, in
my grandfather’s presence, came pecking after me and all
the hens started cackling, which scared me, and I ran into the
next coop for safety.” He took me by my hand and we walked
right by the now quiet nasty rooster and comfortable nesting
hens. We sat under the apple tree, and he related the
following story. “Did you notice how that rooster and hens
behaved when I came in? Totally different than when you first
came in.” I shouted, “The rooster and hens seemed to
pounce on me.”

My grandfather then said, “That’s a new rooster the neighbor
gave me. All your life you are going to come across people
who will act like that rooster and hens. Only in different ways!
It’s natural for that rooster to protect his coop and his hens.
The rooster is the leader and the hen’s followers. Same with
people! It doesn’t matter whether they are men or women.
There will always be people who will try to lead your life and if
you let them, you will become like the hens.”

“But to be the leader, you have to first be able to lead your
own life and be the rooster of your actions. You can be like
the rooster leading the hens, only they will be people. Most of
us in life are followers, like the hens and some stay hidden in
their own chicken coops, like you did.”

“That doesn’t mean that the rooster in us is bad or nasty, like
the one you just experienced, that’s just the way some people
naturally are, at least in their own minds. But did you notice
the respect and the way he quieted down when I came in? He
saw me in his perception as a bigger, stronger and probably
smarter rooster than he is. Which I am and so are you. But
you didn’t think or believe it strong enough for him to perceive
it. Next time before you walk in, believe that that rooster is
just a tiny, sweet chirping chick, and those hens are laying
beautiful golden eggs, that we can have for breakfast.”

Then he did the smartest move and took me back to the
chicken coop, walked away and said “now go in and pick
those golden eggs for breakfast.” Strange, even while I was
still scared I boldly walked into the chicken coop, ignored the
rooster and picked up our golden eggs for breakfast.

As we ate breakfast, he chuckled “don’t you ever forget,” as
he whimsically smiled at my grandmother, “that you will
always meet the roosters and hens in your life. But it’s the
rooster in you and all of us that separates you from the he
and she hens! And will keep you “From the Chicken
Coop”.

Self Confidence : The Importance of Will-Power

December 28th, 2008

The importance of will-power is recognized by most men, yet few deliberately give any time or thought to its development. Why we resist one thing and yield to another may be due to “the strongest motive,” but what more particularly concerns us in the study of self-confidence is in what way this mighty power can be built and directed.

Does desire control the will, or will desire? The psychologist points to the testimony of consciousness as confirming our freedom to choose a certain course and to pursue it, with the feeling that we could choose some other course if we desired.

In either event, there is no feeling of compulsion, and this would seem to confirm the idea of freedom of will.

Let desire, then, be the starting-point of the student’s attempt to educate his will. To strengthen immediately his desire for a strong will, he should dwell intently upon the advantages this power will confer upon him. He should think deeply upon the satisfaction that will come to him from doing things definitely and promptly, and the increased self-confidence that will surely follow from the habit of finishing in a thorough manner everything he undertakes. By dwelling long and earnestly upon the inestimable value of a strong, well-directed will, there will grow in his mind an intense desire to possess this faculty, to use it to his daily advantage, and finally by its aid to realize his life’s ambition.

There are many things we desire to avoid, such as poverty, pain, misfortune, and ill-health; while there are things we much desire to have, such as wealth, power, knowledge, and independence. It is, however, the intensity of our desire that counts for most.

“I desire to become a good public speaker,” says one. “How strong is your desire?” asks the teacher. “Will you practice regularly every day for an hour?!” “I don’t think I can,” says the student, “because my time is so much occupied during the day, and at night I am too tired.” “What personal sacrifices are you ready to make?” “None,” is the answer. “Then,” replies the teacher,

“Your desire is not strong enough to make you a good public speaker.”

This applies with equal force to you who read these pages in search of help to develop your self-confidence.

How strong is your desire to acquire this great power?

Is it strong enough to lead you carefully to read all the suggestions offered here and to put them into actual practice?

Will you enter upon this study with intense earnestness and perseverance?

Will you make reasonable sacrifice to achieve this great end?

Your answer to such questions as these will largely determine what your success will be.

An Example of “Allowing” a Desire to Arrive on Its Own

December 28th, 2008

I don’t know why, but it seems we trip over the “allowing” part of the Deliberate Attraction formula more often than the other two parts. The Deliberate Attraction formula gives us a simple description of how to leverage the Law of Attraction so we can attract more of what we DO want and enjoy. The three steps are simply:

1) Become very clear about what you DO want.

2) Raise your internal vibration, through removing doubts and fears, so you are a vibrational match for your desire.

3) Allow your desire to come to you.

Much has been written already about the first two steps. You’ll find lots of personal stories and succinct teaching in my articles at YouCanHaveItAll.com. But how do we “allow”–what do we need to do to actually receive what we so clearly desire, yet do not have?

Recently, I had a nice experience of what it feels like to “allow.” I’ve been noticing that my office wastebasket is inadequately spilling over too often. It is just a little eight-inch sea-grass basket and it hardly holds two days worth of opened envelopes and crumpled paper. After months of mentally complaining about its lack of capacity, I finally asked myself, “So, what kind of wastebasket would I like?”

I began to imagine a sleek, black, matte finish wastebasket–about 15 inches high with a 12 inch diameter top, and tapered at the bottom. Yes, that would be adequate for a week’s worth of trash from my office and it would look professional alongside my other black office accessories.

Next I collected data on possible wastebaskets. For about a week, every time I entered a building that might have my ideal wastebasket, I looked for it. I found step-on aluminum cans–no, I don’t want to step on anything. I found black plastic trash bins with swivel lids–no, I don’t want a swivel lid–I want an open receptacle so I can toss paper into it. I found black trash cans on wheels–too industrial looking. I found ceramic pots that were almost right–too heavy to empty out. I was noticing the price range went from $18.99 to $49.99.

Finally, I let it go. I told myself, “The right one will show up.” And it did.

I was at the Hudson Bay Store, here in Victoria, BC, making a purchase when I decided to cash-in some of my “Reward Points” for a gift certificate. I had NEVER thought about cashing-in Reward Points before–it had never occurred to me to do so. I took the elevator to the fifth floor and while a delightful young lady at the Reward Counter prepared my gift certificate, my eye scanned across the isle. There I noticed A BLACK WASTEBASKET–just the size and shape I had pictured in my imagination. With gift card in hand, I swiftly crossed the isle and lifted the basket. “Ah, it is made of felt-board–very lightweight. Matte black finish with nail-head trim. About 14 inches high and 12 inches in diameter–tapered at the bottom. Very professional looking.” I turned the basket upside-down to read the price: “$16.99.” Very good! With my gift certificate in hand I proceeded to the checkout stand. When the clerk scanned the price, she gasped and asked me, “How much do you think this costs?”

“Well, the sticker says ‘$16.99′.”

She was shaking her head in disbelief as she replied, “It’s on sale for $5.00.”

“Five dollars?” I asked, in complete surprise.

“Five dollars,” she repeated.

“I’ll pay cash and save my gift certificate!”

Can you imagine the joy I felt at that moment? Not only was the price right, but the manner in which my exact desire had come to me was absolutely delicious!

“Allowing” is simply the old adage: “Let go, and let God.” It’s “Detachment from the outcome.” More like “Detachment from forcing something to happen.”

Allowing is truly letting the Law of Attraction bring your desire into your sphere in its own time, place and manner. Allowing doesn’t mean getting second best–it means allowing the Law of Attraction to bring your exact desire–in the BEST way possible.

Is there something you are not allowing through trying to make it happen or by wanting it a certain way or at a certain time? Let it go. Believe that the Law of Attraction WILL bring it to you in the perfect time and the perfect way. Believe it because that IS the law.

Jamis Bikes at Affordable Prices?

December 28th, 2008

There are many different types of bikes on the market today and hundreds of different brands. With such a diverse range of choice, which type bike should you buy and how can you buy it at an affordable price?

When it comes to value for money, look no further than Jamis Bikes as they are well known for providing a quality build with excellent design to deliver great performance.

Their own mission statement is to “build the perfect bike” and they have been proving this time and time again as evidenced from their abundant accolades and awards from bicycling magazines.

In general, Jamis Bikes are much cheaper than their rivals. Industry insiders claim that most of the bike manufacturers have their bikes made from cheaper production countries such as India and China and use the same components. The difference in price usually comes from design and the logo of the mountain bike brand - a factor that Jamis does not charge a premium when compared to others.

This means that Jamis Bikes are intrinsically cheaper than other brands but if you want to get them for even cheaper, a good idea to buy them second hand from places such as auctions where you will be able to find them for sale at a fraction of the price.

Chronology: Great Plains Dynamics - Microsoft Great Plains - Microsoft Dynamics GP - Overview

December 27th, 2008

In this small article, following the rules of article format we will give you chronology of current Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0. ERP System usually has its life cycle and it should be considered as market newcomer, matured or phasing out MRP. The ERP life cycle is usually 15 years, however in the conditions of modern computer programming/software life cycle the life cycle could be reduced to 10 years (with the option of capital software redesign). We are not talking here about GPS Accounting - or also known as Great Plains DOS version - call us if you need help with DOS version.

• Graphical/DB platforms independent ERP. In the beginning of 1990th Great Plains Software pioneered with Great Plains Dynamics/Great Plains Dexterity. The idea behind was typical for those good old days - to protect ERP from OS battle: Mac/Windows/Solaris/Unix, plus database SQL battle: MS SQL Server/Sybase/Oracle/ingress/IBM DB2. Great Plains Dynamics/Dynamics C/S+/eEnterprise core was Great Plains Software Dexterity - IDE and programming language/shell, written on C programming language. In fact Great Plains Software switched C vendor to and proved the reliability of Dexterity in 1998.

• Acquisition. Microsoft decided to move into ERP arena at the end of 20th century and purchased Great Plains Software. At this moment Great Plains Software was owning also Solomon IV - its long time competitor. One year later Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions (renamed into Microsoft Business Solutions) acquired Denmark based ERP software development company - Navision Software - as the result of this operation Microsoft was the owner of several MRP packages: Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise, Navision Attain, Navision Axapta, Solomon

• Microsoft Great Plains. Microsoft .Net platform was introduced and all Microsoft ERP applications were aimed to be rewritten in .Net/C#/VB - which was probably premature statement. Future development confirmed that software world is too complicated and software unification is not that simple

• Great Plains Dexterity Source Code Programming. DYNAMICS.DIC is the dexterity dictionary and if the MBS was in the source code subscription - it had DYNAMICS.DIC with sanscript Dexterity scripts and its developers could align their code with Great Plains Software/MBS. The program was closed for new VAR in 1999, so assuming you are Offshore Indian MBS software shop - your customization capabilities were limited. Plus if you are MBS Dynamics GP eCommerce ISV vendor - the source code programming is still the must for you, you should know how these tables are populated: GL00101, SOP30200, SOP30300, SOP10200, RM00101, PM00200.

• Microsoft Dynamics GP. In September 2005 Microsoft initiated with Microsoft Dynamics renaming project (who knows - maybe Microsoft Dynamics was associated with Great Plains Dynamics name)

• Microsoft CRM initiative. Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 is projected front end for Great Plains, Navision, Axapta. Plus if you consider multinational operations - MS CRM is Worldwide initiative.

Business Planning Software

December 26th, 2008

Once a business idea is selected, it is highly recommended that we sharpen the concept by a detailed planning process. The result of this step is a comprehensive business plan, with its major components being the marketing “mix,” the strategic plan, operational and logistical structures, and the financial proposal. The purpose of the business plan is to recognize and define a business opportunity, describe how that opportunity will be seized by the management team, and to demonstrate that the business is feasible and worth the effort.

While this may seem a daunting task to first-time entrepreneurs, many “veterans” have found that there are software packages that can help to organize and format the material required for a comprehensive plan. These packages are particularly helpful to those who are intimidated by starting from a blank piece of paper.

So is there a downside to purchasing software that has most of the text “in place?” The text is not always well-written, “fill-in the blanks” tends not to produce very fluid copy, and the parts you write may be in a different style than the words surrounding it. Some experts suggest that the real usefulness of such packages lies in the examples, when they are in a business similar to yours.

The sales leader in “plan-ware” is Palo Alto Software’s Business Plan Pro (BPP, paloalto.com). We have tried several packages that are comparable to BPP; you should evaluate a few to find which might fit your unique style best. Figure a price point of about $100 for all. Others to consider would be:

* Business Resource Software’s Plan Write (brs-inc.com/)
* Planware’s PlanWrite (planware.org)
* PlanMagic’s Business (planmagic.com)

In addition to BP software, you may want to consider online services.

* SmartOnline (smartonline.com); $30 to $70 per month
* Fundable Plans (fundableplans.com); $40 per use

Some of the factors that you would want to consider in your evaluation are:

User-friendliness - easy to get productive quickly; self-guiding, not having to go back-and-forth with instruction manual or help screens; “wizards available for some functions.

Interface - the package works with the other software that you will need in the process, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Support - free technical support by telephone or email; useful help screens; program updates; and, resources such as articles and links that assist in the business planning process.

Features - functions beyond the basic “fill-in-the-blanks” templates, such as PowerPoint templates; market research data; industry codes; lots of rich examples; and, assistance with the more technical aspects of the plan, such as finance and strategy.

One of the dangers of using such packages is that your focus may shift from producing a complete and convincing plan to simply filling out the templates. Their real value lies in their support of getting it in writing.

Many entrepreneurs insist that their business concept is so clear in their heads that the written plan can be produced after start-up; this attitude “short-circuits” one of the major benefits of producing the plan. The discipline of writing a plan forces us to think through the steps we must take to get the business started, and, to “flesh out ideas, to look for weak spots and vulnerabilities,” according to business consultant Eric Siegel.

A well-conceived business plan can serve as a management tool to settle major policy issues, identify “keys to success,” establish goals and check-points, and consider long-term prospects. The plan must realistically assess the skills required for success of the venture, initially and over the long run, and match the skills and interests of the team to these requirements. Test the plan, and an accompanying oral presentation, on friends whose business judgment you value. Let them assume the role of a prospective investor or lender.

Aromatherapy - Using Nature’s Aroma to Cure

December 24th, 2008

Aromatherapy makes use of the essential oils from the plants and other aromatic compounds to help soothe the human mind and cure certain illness. You can do it at home with the help of essential oils, perfume and cosmetics. When it becomes a part of pharmacology, it is known as clinical aromatherapy.

Aromacology studies the effects of different aromas on human behavior. Certain aromas are believed to have relaxing effect on our mind and body. Aromatherapy includes not only the use of essential oils, but also absolutes, hydrosols, infusion, phytoncides, and carrier oils. The absolutes are oils extracted by superficial fluid extraction, like the rose absolute. Hydrosols, like the rose water, are aqueous by-products after distillation. Infusions are the aqueous solutions of plant material. Phytoncides are the natural volatile organic compounds extracted from plants. Sweet almond oil is an example of carrier oil, used to dilute essential oils.

Aromatherapy can be done through inhalation. By taking baths, massages and compresses, the essential oils can be absorbed by the skin. Through oral rinses and gargles, they can be absorbed through the mucous membranes. Ingestion is another method of aromatherapy.

Aoromatherapy causes varius therapeutic effects like the antiseptic effects, anesthetic effects, and psychological effects. Aromatherapy has its effects on the central nervous system and the metabolism. For home aromatherapy, you can blend neroli, eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary, nutmeg, and peppermints in the base oils and add a few drops of basil in that mixture. For bathing purposes, you can add oils like lavender, and rose to the water. Aromatherapy can heal depression, insomnia, acne, joint pains, stress, cough, and other types of diseases. For the skin, aromatherapy best solves acne and dry skin problems.

Aromatherapy helps to enhance the skin and makes it glow. It gives a pedicure and manicure effect, and prevents skin wrinkles. The common essential oils used for aromatherapy are sweet almond, avocado, cocoa butter, grape seed, jojoba, olive, peanut, rose hip, sesame, sunflower and more. Make sure not to use ajowan, almond, arnica, calamus, garlic, melilotus, onion, mustard, wormseed, and wormwood, without proper supervision from the aromatherapy practitioner.
