Poker has become incredibly popular not just among men, but among women as well. The beliefs that women are too weak and poker is a “man’s game” are slowly deteriorating, and women are profiled alongside some of the most successful male poker players in the world. Three thousand women worldwide have joined the Women’s Poker Club, a network exclusively for women to learn and play poker. There women can play in tournaments strictly against other women, and players at any skill level are able to join. With the availability of online poker clubs for women, the feeling of community and acceptance is shared among those truly interested in the game of poker.

Women also get encouragement and support from Woman Poker Player, a top women’s poker magazine. Female poker players are featured in every issue, sharing their experience and success with other women interested in poker.

On July 6, 2007 Barbara Enright was the first woman to enter in the Poker Hall of Fame, proving that women can be as much professional poker players as men, if not more. Female poker players are standing their ground and not giving in to the intimidation, instead wowing everybody with their talent and skillful poker moves.
